QFG presently fixes over 1000 vessels for approximately 2.5 million tonnes of cargo a year on behalf of a wide range of chartering clients throughout Europe and more recently for clients in Korea, Japan and Australia.

We are the largest UK chartering firm outside London with four fully qualified brokers (Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers) who between them have almost 80 years of experience. QFG have developed an excellent reputation among both charterers and vessel owners alike for professionalism, market knowledge, effective negotiation and most important the ability to match cargoes to vessels quickly.

Among the cargoes we are expert in are grain, timber, peat moss, containers, coal, sand, aggregates, salt, paper and stone. We also handle extensive project/out of gauge cargo chartering which works in combination with our project cargo division and occasionally our stevedoring business .

Most of our charters are in the North European short sea trades, British, Irish Sea, North Sea, Baltic trades but also in the Mediterranean Sea where we have developed strong links with cargo originators.

In the last two years we have added to our ship chartering division through the addition of a deep sea broking desk. We work with very large cargoes of mineral ores and grains moving between Australia, South America and Asia. Typically these cargoes are for handimax and panamax size vessels.
