Quality Freight Group was founded in Ireland in 1990. Since then it has grown organically and more recently by acquisition.

QFG has offices in the four provinces of Ireland, three principal cities, Dublin, Belfast and Cork. In 2000 it’s growth took a new turn when QFG made a major investment in the U.K., creating Quality Freight UK Ltd., based in Ellesmere specialising in European coaster chartering and more recently deep sea chartering trading globally. This expansion was followed shortly afterwards with the acquisition of Edward Nicholson Ltd., a respected firm with a strong heritage of chartering, stevedoring and port operations in Liverpool dating from 1879.

The business has evolved from being an agent for many leading operators such as Railfreight and UBC to becoming an operator in its own right as 40% shareholder of Geest Ireland and operating its own state of the art bulk port facility at Ellesmere Port in Merseyside, UK. Furthermore QFG was Irish partner in Damco Ireland now a wholly owned subsidiary of Maersk. More recently QFG is the founder and principal shareholder in Bulk Logistic Solutions the leading carrier of bulk foods like sugar within the EU.
